Adelaide Hills business owner and entrepreneur, Kris Lloyd has been announced as a winner in The Australian Financial Review and Westpac 100 Women of Influence Awards for 2015.

Kris Lloyd, from, Woodside Cheese Wrights, has been recognised in the Business Enterprise category for her contribution to Artisan Cheese Making.

“I am very happy to be included with such an outstanding group of Australian women, in The Australian Financial Review and Westpac 100 Women of Influence awards.

"Across Australia, women are a significant, if not dominant, part of the Australian Artisan Specialty Cheese Industry. Collectively we are integral to the industry from production-to-plate, even in the media, and in just a few decades have succeeded in making Australian cheeses a must on any cheese plate. I would like to think this is an award for us all,” said Kris.

The awards are in their fourth year and recognise outstanding women from a wide variety of sectors across Australia. There are 10 categories: Board/Management, Public Policy, Diversity, Business Enterprise, Young Leader, Global, Local/Regional, Innovation, Culture and Social Enterprise.

Kris has been making delicious, artisan cheese in the Adelaide Hills for over 15 years and says, "I intend to build on the Kris Lloyd - Artisan brand with new and uncommon offerings,  I see it adding to the sustainability of the region not only through increased milk requirements but also additional staff and food tourism.

"I think it is so incredibly important for businesses to innovate and keep their customers interested and excited with what they have to offer..."
