Jackson Beavis Jackson Beavis

Jacksons passion for beer began when he was growing up on the family farm and he would help his grandfather make homemade stout.  His passion became a hobby and is now his career.  Employed as the Brewer at Woolshed Brewery in Renmark he has decided to further his knowledge of brewing and intends to study for the General Certificate and Diploma from The Institute of Brewing and Distilling.

 

Elizabeth Dillon Elizabeth Dillon

Four years ago Liz discovered the world of cake decorating and is now a self proclaimed "cake decorating diva".  Wanting to broaden her skills and knowledge in the area of 3D and gravity defying cakes her funding will be used to attend training at Planet Cake in Sydney.

 

Meagan Evans Meagan Evans

SAI Global internal auditor training and intro to food safety and HACCP awareness is the next step in Megans training.  By completing the courses Meagan hopes to grow and flourish with confidence in her Quality Assurance role for a regional food producer.

 

Kate Henning Kate Henning

Smiling Samoyed Brewery is a new brewery on the Fleurieu Peninsula owned and operated by husband and wife team, Simon Dunstone and Kate Henning.  Kates funding will be used to complete her Grad Cert in Brewing which will add not only to her skill in brewing excellent craft beers but will also provide her with the knowledge to understand the technical and chemical aspects of brewing to ensure a consistent high quality product is produced by Smiling Samoyed Brewery.

 

Jennifer May Jennifer May

As the owner/operator of Sweet Temptations by Jen, Jen offers bespoke cake designs and sugar flowers for sale to both the general public and other cake decorators.  Jen will use her funding to travel to WA and complete various training sessions with Jacqueline Butler from Petalsweet Cakes.

 

Tenae Miller Tenae Miller

Having grown up in Gawler with the Barossa at her doorstep Tenae knew since she was young that she wanted to work in the Wine Industry.  In her final year of her Nutrition and Food Science degree at Uni SA her funding will be used to further her knowledge of the industry by completing various courses at the National Wine Centre.

 

Andrew Mills Andrew Mills

In 2011 Andrew and his wife started their own on farm butchery business called The River Farm Products enabling them to grown their own quality meat and sell to the public. They offer a full range of products including lamb, beef, pork and chicken.  Wanting to formalise his skills and knowledge Andrews funding will be used to complete Cert III Retail Butcher and Cert III Smallgoods training.

 

Recco OConnor Recco O'Connor

Recco believes that the baking industry will provide him with a rewarding future and will use his funding to complete Cert III Retail Baking (Combined).  He wants to learn from accomplished bakers and open up greater employment opportunities and further study paths.

 

Sarah Parin Sarah Parin

Having always enjoyed baking Sarah has started her home based business called Cupcake Crumbz.  Her dream for the future is to open her own cupcake cafe in the Adelaide Hills.  To develop and refine her skills Sarah will use her funding to attend the Australian Cake Decorating Network Cake Camp being held in Melbourne.

Emmas support payment funding will be used to allow her to complete Certificate III Retail Baking (Combined)  to assist her with her dream and desire to become a qualified Baker.

 

Nathen Wakefield

As a fourth generation farmer originally from NSW Nathen is a trade qualified Butcher who made a life change in 2013 and relocated to the Fleurieu Peninsula.  Nathen will be completing smallgoods and charcuterie courses at the Victor Churchill cooking school in Sydney along with an advanced private butchery class to allow him to further his skill base in butchery as well as business management.

 

Sophie Wakefield Sophie Wakefield

 A young business owner and agricultural producer Sophie and her husband Nathen own and operate Wakefield Grange.  Her funding will be used to complete French cookery, charcuterie and smallgoods training at Victor Churchill with the intention to develop a more diverse product line which supports their sustainable whole animal butchery philosphy.

 

Dylan Wilson Dylan Wilson

Previously employed in the Hospitality industry Dylan has always had a passion for cooking and experimenting with food.    He enjoys baking and will use his funding to complete Cert III Retail Baking (combined) and would like to work in this exciting industry and perhaps one day have his own business.
