Leini FiebigLeini Fiebig

Coming from the country Leini thought that everybody baked, and then discovered that they didn't.  She is "fairly self-taught" and produces a range of cakes, slices and tarts that she provides to a cafe in Kingston SE.  With her next step being to differentiate herself and take her products to the next level she will be completing the Intro to Patisserie at Savour Chocolate and Patisserie School.

Amber Fielden Amber Fielden

Amber previously completed her Cert III Retail Baking and would now like to learn new skills particularly gateaux and french style desserts.  Her funding will be used to undertake a Cert III Patisserie at TAFESA Regency.

Ben Johnson Ben Johnson

With a background in wine but a long held passion for craft beer, Ben decided to make the switch and follow his passion to commercial brewing.  He has completed a General Certificate in Brewing through IBD and would now like to progress through the IBD Diploma in Brewing.  His funding will be used to complete module 1 of the IBD Diploma.

Kym Masters Kym Masters

With the aim to make the highest quality Alpine cheeses that capture the essence of the Adelaide Hills Kym has opened "Section 28" in Woodside.  He uses traditional methods enhanced by modern techniques to create uniquely Australian, Alpine style cheeses. He is dedicated to achieving absolute excellence and to producing the highest quality cheeses that reflect the local terroir.  To enable him to achieve this excellence he will undertake intensive training at Academie Opus Caseus in France.

Vicki Matchett Vicki Matchett

Well known foodie Vicki Matchett manufactures a range of high quality condiments under "Matchetts" brand and wanting to bring something fresh to the market is soon to release a new brand of condiments.  She grows a lot of her own produce and uses locally grown ingredients where ever possible.  Wanting to update her business skills with a view to business expansion Vicki will be undertaking the Threesixty Business Coaching program provided through Business SA.

Daniela Mazzone Daniela Mazzone

With the philosophy that good chocolate should not only linger on your palate it should linger for many years, Daniela has created Chocolat by Daniela.  She seeks to capture the best of what we have in South Australia, fuse that with chocolate and create a story by means of pairing events and master classes to create an exclusive experience.  Daniela will undertake training at Savour in addition to the Threesixty SAYES program provided through Business SA.

James McCall James McCall

With dreams to become a brewer, James has completed various short courses at TAFESA and will use his Food & Bev funding to complete a Cert III in Micro Brewing.  Keep an eye out for James and his partners who run Adelaide Beer Bus and provide tours to microbreweries in McLaren Vale and the Adelaide Hills.

Karin Synnett Karin Synnett

Karin is a previous Food & Bev recipient who is a qualified Quality Assurance Manager and is looking to update her skills.  Her funding will be used to undertake SAI Global HACCP and SQF Alchemy courses.

Natasha Thorpe Natasha Thorpe

Having recently completed Cert III Patisserie Natasha is keen to further her skills and go on to complete the Cert IV Patisserie at TAFESA Regency.  She was inspired by her Grandma who used to make all of the family birthday cakes and has now started her own small business called Natashas Cupcakes.

David Watts David Watts

With a work history in the wine industry followed by FIFO David now works in the microbrewing sector.  He is most interested in chemistry and the underpinning knowledge as to why things do what they do at certain temperatures.  He will use his funding to complete the Cert III Food Processing Micro Brewing at TAFESA Regency

Chiara Wachtel Chiara Wachtel

Chiara is a self confessed city girl who developed a love for the Ag and Hort industry.  She has experience across a range of QC/QA areas and will be using her funding to complete a Diploma of Food Safety Quality Assurance Management.  She is dedicated to - and passionate about - food production and safety.
